Asia Pacific Women's Information Network Center (APWINC) was established in 1996 at Sookmyung Women's University established with a vision to promote gender equality and empower women’s potential and skills in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Asia Pacific Region.

Since it was founded, APWINC has played a pioneer role in developing women’s ICT skills and nurturing women leaders globally. APWINC has made various efforts for women’s informatization by conducting research, field surveys, education and training, as well as organizing conferences, workshops and seminars in gender and ICT. For those endeavours, APWINC has closely collaborated with international organizations, governmental organizations, and NGOs. Recently, we are expanding our project areas, target groups, partners andd regions to achieve our visions to build awareness, promote transformation, and envsion the future of an inclusive knowledge-information society.

APWINC will try our best to make the world a better place for women and promote global partnerships on the basis of our expertise and experiences in research and project management.

We hope that we will maintain your interest in and support for APWINC.
